How to become an Anglican Religious Education Teacher?
If you are thinking of becoming an ARE teacher you need to be enrolled in a theology or religious education faculty. You will then need to add Anglican studies to the programme which might already be on offer in the place of study, or you need to follow a recognised programme somewhere else. Finally, you will need to qualify in pedagogical studies to become a teacher. There are different ways of going about in England and on the Continent. Even if the way looks long, one may already start teaching during the time of study in some cases.

Als u geïnteresseerd bent om een AGO leerkracht te worden, moet u beschikken over een theologisch of religieus diploma en een pedagogische bekwaamheid. Bovendien moet u dan wel Anglicaanse studies aan uw studiepakket toevoegen, wat soms deel uitmaakt van het programma en soms niet. Of u moet een erkend programma elders volgen. De manieren om dit doel te bereiken is verschillend in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en op het Europese vasteland. Ook al lijkt dit een lang proces, in sommige gevallen kan men al beginnen met lesgeven terwijl men nog aan het studeren is.

Former Anglican RE Teacher Training at KULeuven
In the past KU Leuven offered at MA level two modules : Anglican Studies (Anglicaanse Studies) and Anglican Religious Education (Anglicaanse godsdienstonderwijs), Anglicaanse Studies is taught in English and counts for 3 ECTS credit points . Anglicaans godsdienstonderwijs is taught in Dutch and counts for 1 ECTS credit point. Both modules are now combined in a self-study course (outside KU Leuven).
